Dauset Trails Nature Center

The center offers quality environmental education, outdoor recreation, and an understanding of the early days of farm life in the area. It accepts donations at its Visitors Center, and offers feeding stations for turtles and fish. There are also hand wipes and feeding dispensers available for use when visiting animals. Dauset Trails is located between Macon and Atlanta. The center is popular for its animal exhibits and numerous hiking, biking, and nature trails. Visitors can experience the wildlife of Georgia and explore the creeks and lakes. If you're looking for a challenge, consider starting your trip on the leftover trail, which follows the Long Branch Creek.
The center is open daily from 9am to 5pm, with some holidays closed. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated. A half-mile nature trail allows visitors to explore a variety of wildlife including a bald eagle. The trail itself is shaded and well groomed.
