Lake Horton Park
There are a number of good fishing spots in and around Lake Horton Park. Lake Horton Park is a 790-acre body of water in Fayette County. It is located at 1275 Antioch Rd, Fayetteville, GA 30215. The lake was constructed in the summer of 1996 and opened to anglers in July 1997. Since its opening, the lake has earned a reputation for producing trophy-sized bass and crappie. The largest fish caught in the lake was a 11-pound, three-ounce largemouth. Another bank angler pulled out a 2-pound crappie.
The park has 82 acres of open space and offers many amenities. It features a paved walking trail, boat ramps, and picnic areas. There are also eight cabins on the park's property. In addition, 56 RV campsites and three backcountry campsites are available at the park. Visitors can dine at the park's Henry Horton Restaurant and Lounge.

Those interested in hiking may find the 2.7-mile Lake Horton Park loop trail easy and fun. The route is rated easy with an elevation gain of 85.3 feet. The trail starts at the southern tip of the lake and winds around the perimeter of the park. The trail is paved and offers moderate inclines.
The park is open to the public from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. DST. Admission to the park is free for residents of Fayette County. However, visitors from outside the county must pay admission if they wish to use the park's facilities. Visitors should also be aware that scuba diving and swimming are prohibited at Lake Horton Park.
